Healthy Futures

Would a youth-oriented service be appropriate for the Healthy Futures category? I assume so, but my service coordinator is under the impression that the Healthy Futures category is designated only for services that impact the elderly.

    I would choose the issue area that your project most effectively addresses, there is a link in the rules that takes you to a detailed explanation of the Kennedy Serve Act and the issue areas. Healthy Futures is not intended to focus on seniors at all.

    According to the CNCS Strategic Plan pdf document, Healthy Futures is intended to focus on helping seniors stay in their own homes, reducing childhood obesity rates, and improving access to healthcare.

    I should have said that it's only focus is not on things that impact seniors.
