Economic Opportunities - Language Access in the courts, administrative agencies and legal services agencies
Poverty has a disparate impact upon persons of color who often encounter restricted access to legal rights and legal services because of their inability or limited ability to speak English. Moriah Nelson, AmeriCorps volunteer extraordinaire, has promoted and increased language access for low income residents in Massachusetts during the past two years.

Moriah has made significant impact in moving the Language Access Coalition forward in Massachusetts, initiated the first (and second) language educational forum, and maintaining the momentum of this effort.

Moriah Nelson is ultimately qualified to do this work. She is the face what ethical and moral diligence looks like.
