Christopher Goodwin is an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer currently serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) programs in Multnomah, Washington, and Columbia Counties in Oregon. He is working to build capacity within the Medical Reserve Corps program to further the regular community and public health activities of MRC Volunteers. Across the three counties, Chris provides coordination for over 640 MRC volunteers! He presents at volunteer orientation training, plans the logistics for regional trainings and outreach activities, and notifies volunteers of all training activities. These volunteers are able to be easily mobilized to provide medical care during and after a disaster thanks to the work of Chris! Additionally, Chris processes all new MRC volunteers for all three counties through the web-based State Emergency Registry of Voluneers in Oregon (SERV-OR) system. Chris is one of the most dedicated AmeriCorps VISTA members in the nation and plans to serve next year as a VISTA Leader in Oregon.
